Campus Resources Map Brochure

During Orientation Leader training, we were discussing how we could edit the official campus map illustration to highlight specific campus resources that aren’t as stressed in campus tours and other orientation materials as academic buildings and residence halls are. I came up with the idea to create a user-made Google Map highlighting these locations on campus so that students could keep it on their phone and we could give them something more straight to the point than the campus map that, while more thorough and helpful for finding specific buildings, can be more frustrating to navigate with.

After making the map on Google, the next step was designing something we cold give to students during their orientation session that explained what it was and how to use it. I decided on a brochure instead of a flyer because it gives a clearer division between chunks of information and hopefully makes it easier to skim for the answer they’re looking for.

For the brochure design, I stayed within La Salle’s brand style guide using PT Serif for headings and Roboto for paragraphs and sticking to colors defined in the style guide.
