Jessica L. Cozzi and I met at BookCon in 2018 and have kept in touch ever since. I’m so grateful to be a part of her publishing journey by getting to create this animation for the cover reveal of her debut novel.
Before I had even seen her book cover, I had this idea replaying in my mind of a plane flying past and revealing the cover when the clouds cleared. So as soon as I saw the cover for WE’VE HIT TURBULENCE, I got to work.
A joke in the group chat about Steve Aoki’s hit, “Turbulence” saved me from having to choose a song on my own for the Reel/TikTok. I just timed the animation to the beat drop and let Lil Jon announce the cover’s appearance on screen.
